We headed to Forest City this weekend for the marriage of Thomas (Julie's cousin) and his new wife Claudia Clay. Friday night, we made it just in time for the rehearsal and then went to Oscar's for a really nice dinner. Saturday, we woke up late and the kids rode trikes in the driveway. We raided the entertainment center at the Puryears and found some VHS classics: Secret of Nimh, Return to Oz, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King! After a day of movies and explaining, "Yes, Mufasa is really dead, but you're right honey, he still has a Mommy" it was time to get dressed for the wedding. Annie also had an explaination of her own, "When the Beast lost all his hair, I think it went on Gaston."
We got to the church just in time for George to drench his tuxedo pants, soak both socks and fill up his patent leather shoes with dilute urine. OOPS! So, dad quickly washed the pants out in the Baptist church bathroom (the baptistry was empty), and quickly dried them. Beautiful Annie and handsome but sockless George made it down the aisle looking really cute and were a big hit with the numerous great aunts in attendence. We were so proud of them! The other flower girl was 2 yo Alexis, daughter of Carey Clay (Claudia's sister). Coy sounded fantastic playing "I Have And I Always Will" for the first dance at the reception (short vid below). Later, the guests were mildly distracted by the Arkansas-Alabama game (what a heartbreaker!), but the new flatscreens in every room were nicely accompanied by the band playing Mustang Sally and other wedding favorites in the background. We are told that the dancing really started after we left to put our little sleepy-heads to bed. Sunday morning, we woke up and went down to the Neanie's cabin and she cooked up her typical spread. The kids fished, threw rocks, and played hide-and-go seek with Molly and Coy (all-time best seekers ever). With 2 loaves of Neanie bread in tow, we headed back to LR and tucked the kids in bed just in time to post this post. Can't wait to eat that bread!-Matt
